Bergamo is getting ready to welcome world-class cycling. On Saturday, 10 October 2026, Il Lombardia will start in the city, bringing a day of sporting excitement to cycling fans. It will be a wonderful opportunity to see the riders up close and turn race day into a weekend discovering Bergamo.

The weekend will begin on Friday, 9 October, with the team presentation at 5:00 pm on the Sentierone. It will be an opportunity to see the riders before the race and soak up the atmosphere on the eve of the event.
On Saturday morning, Piazza Giacomo Matteotti will be the focal point for the start. The rider sign-on will take place from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, with the official start scheduled for 10:45 am.
From Bergamo, the riders will tackle a 239-kilometre route to Como. For visitors staying in the city, the morning will offer a chance to watch the preparations and cheer the peloton as it sets off.

After cheering on the riders, you can spend the rest of the day exploring Bergamo.
